Salone Internazionale del Mobile 2019: Inside Hebanon

For the 10th time in a row, Hebanon Fratelli Basile – 1830 will be among the protagonists of the Salone del Mobile 2019. The only company in southern Italy that will exhibit at the Design di Lusso pavilion, Hall 1 Stand G01.

This year’s theme is linked to identity: personal identity, of a people, of a culture and then discovering its universal roots of humanity.

Inside Hebanon is this year’s title because Hebanon Fratelli Basile – 1830 will be laying itself bare, revealing its vocation as cabinetmakers and showing the beating heart of the company: master craftsman Giovanni Basile, who will be giving live performances from Tuesday to Friday, showcasing his skills as a carver and inlayer.

From Tuesday to Saturday, from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., there will be the usual Mozzarella Party, with fresh mozzarella from Campania.

THE THEME

The company was founded in 1830 thanks to the love story of a man and a woman, who also worked for the Royal House of Bourbon. Since then, they have safeguarded the secrets of cabinetmaking, enriching and blending them with the most important technological innovations in the sector: not only an expression of the know-how, love, and passion that the Basile family has put into its creations for two hundred years, but also an inner and stylistic search for the sublime.

The theme of the new Hebanon Fratelli Basile – 1830 collections focuses on Identity. In an increasingly fluid society, as defined by Zygmunt Bauman, which is increasingly interconnected, frenetic, global, and omnivorous in its cultural consumption, it is easy to get lost. So we designers at Hebanon decided to use our work to describe history, culture, and personal roots, as well as those of a people, only to discover that at the core are the same universal values that unite all cultures. This year, Hebanon’s beauty was created in collaboration with the three Basile sisters, Giovanna, Maria—chief architect and artistic and technical director—Nicola—director of the ergonomics department for spaces and the kitchen sector—as well as architect Noemi Verdoliva and designer Roberto Rago, with special collaboration from the Italian-French studio NoeSte, led by architect Stefano Trapani and designer Brigitte Legeandre.

For the second consecutive year, Hebanon’s partners include one of the most important and advanced companies in its sector, Neolith Sintered Stone, Rega Marmi Group, and, for the first time, the company Quattrifolio, which was responsible for this year’s lighting design.
